Malaysia’s Najib says to take quick break, follows reviews he might depart for Jakarta

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak stated on Twitter that he would take a brief break to spend time along with his household, hours after reviews that his names was on the flight manifest of a personal jet scheduled to depart for Jakarta on Saturday morning.

The manifest of the jet, which is scheduled to fly from an airport close to Kuala Lumpur to the Indonesian capital at 10:00 a.m. (0200 GMT), names Najib and his spouse as passengers, two sources and two media reviews stated earlier.

“After over 4 many years in politics and the current election marketing campaign, which was regrettably private and maybe essentially the most intense in Malaysian historical past, I’ll take a brief break to spend time with my household whom I’ve not seen sufficient of in recent times,” Najib stated on Twitter.

Najib misplaced to former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad on this week’s elections. The brand new prime minister has vowed to research a multi-billion-dollar graft scandal at state fund 1Malaysia Growth Berhad (1MDB), which was based by Najib.

Najib has constantly denied any wrongdoing in reference to 1MDB.
