Pandurang Martand, who hails from Chichondi village in Nilanga tehsil of the district, was allegedly assaulted by head constable Namdeo Koli at a state transport bus depot, an official stated.
Mr Koli (58) punched Martand, a farmer by career, together with his fingers and ft, leaving him injured. The sufferer went residence after the incident and was underneath medical therapy, he stated.
What triggered the assault was not but recognized, the official added.
On March 12, he succumbed to accidents, his son Ram Martand (30) stated in a criticism lodged with the police within the district, round 500km from Mumbai.
“Primarily based on the criticism we registered an unintentional demise case on the Aurad Police Station. We’re investigating whether or not Martand’s demise was prompted as a result of assault,” one other senior police official stated.
