A Congo park spokesman says one guard has been killed and two British vacationers and their driver have been kidnapped in Virunga Nationwide Park.
Joel Wengamulay, spokesman for the Congolese Institute for The Conservation of Nature, advised the U.N.-backed Radio Okapi that the kidnapping occurred Friday within the Nyiragongo territory simply north of Goma.
He says their car was ambushed whereas bringing the British vacationers from Kibumba to Goma.
Wengamulay says investigations into the assault have begun. Japanese Congo is dwelling to a number of armed teams.
Britain’s International and Commonwealth Workplace says it’s in touch with Congolese authorities following an incident involving two British nationals. It didn’t give particulars.
