The U.S. has blood and urine samples from final Saturday’s lethal assault in Syria which have examined constructive for chemical weapons, two U.S. officers advised NBC Information.
The samples examined constructive for chlorine fuel and an unnamed nerve agent, in response to the report. The officers advised NBC that the Assad regime is understood to have shares of the nerve agent sarin and has beforehand used a mix of chlorine and sarin in assaults.
The officers stated they had been “assured” within the intelligence, although not 100 p.c certain, in response to NBC.
Russia and Syria have denied any involvement within the alleged assault, nonetheless officers stated the U.S. has compiled intelligence that signifies the Syrian authorities’s involvement.
President Donald Trump condemned the assault after its prevalence, calling it “atrocious.” He stated on Monday that he plans to make “main choices” following the assault and won’t rule out army motion. Trump has not confirmed when or if the assault will happen, stating in a tweet that it “could possibly be very quickly or not so quickly in any respect.”
The chemical assault is the newest in an escalating and lethal battle in Syria that has garnered world consideration and fear.
